PART Assistant
Add your own cross-sections to the profile library?

Can the PART Assistant manage your own or individual profile cross-sections in the profile library? Of course it works! Read how easy this is in the blog.

Individual profile cross-sections appear again and again in the design process. Regardless of whether it is aluminum profiles, plastic profiles, wooden profiles or classic steel profiles. With the PART Assistant you can manage all types of profiles and place them comfortably. In the following we will show you how you can add your own profiles to the profile library of PART Assistant for PTC Creo Elements/Direct Modeling in three simple steps.

Drawing the profile cross-section:

First, the desired profile cross-section is drawn on a working plane. Then sketch lines and sketch points for the later alignment of the profile are added. This means that the profile can be offset in parallel during placement.

Teaching in the new cross section:

In order to transfer the new profile cross-section to the PART Assistant profile library, the Define special profile function must be called up. In addition to the working plane, further information such as the profile row, designation and the standard material are defined there.

Usage of the Profile:

Immediately after teaching the new profile cross-section, the profile is available in the normal PART Assistant database and can be used again and again - even in different projects. Teaching the new cross-section is a one-time process. Of course, if you need the new cross-section at several workstations, you only need to teach it once. If configured accordingly, it is then available to all users.

In the video you can see all the work steps and their execution in detail. From creating the profile cross-section with the normal sketching functions of PTC Creo Elements/Direct Modeling to teaching and using the new profile in the PART Assistant.
